Hi trail volunteers! We are going to rally for a trail work day Sunday, October 12th. The Dollar Creek Trail was hit hard by the fires in 2024. We have an opportunity to improve the trail tread and water drainage on the switchback section of Dollar Creek.
We will have two meeting areas to accommodate folks coming from Boise or Valley County. The meeting time for both places will be 9:30am.
1. Gold Fork North Trailhead (https://maps.app.goo.gl/g7ZvRVpt16n6XkN3A?g_st=ipc) this trailhead is 20 miles from the Highway and takes about 1 hour from the turn off at Highway 55 and Davis Creek.
2. Gold Fork Lookout road( https://maps.app.goo.gl/fgzPVrn1ybPVLA2BA?g_st=ipc ) turn on Warm Lake road and drive 11 miles. Turn left on FS road 411, the meeting spot is at the base of this road (follow the signs for Gold Fork Lookout). Volunteers will then ride up the road and down the trail to the dollar creek work site (30-40 minute ride)
We will have the CITRA trailer at the Gold Fork North trailhead with dirt tools to borrow. We need 4-5 saws as well.
CITRA will cook up some burgers at the end of the day at the Gold Fork North trailhead. Please RSVP so we know how much food to get.
If the project spills over into Monday, there are a few people who will camp at the Gold Fork North trailhead to work on it again on Monday any one is welcome to join.
